Internal Linking and Site Architecture: How to Distribute Authority
Internal linking explained: how to design site architecture, choose anchor text, find orphan pages, and direct authority toward the pages that bring revenue.
SEO service
On-page SEO means making every page clear and relevant — for users and for Google. From optimized copy and metadata to heading structure and internal linking architecture.
What’s included
We rewrite or create page content based on keyword research, fully covering search intent.
The title is one of the strongest on-page signals, and the description is the hook that helps decide your click-through rate in the results. Unique, accurate, compelling.
One H1 per page, plus H2/H3 headings that organize the content logically and include keyword variations.
Descriptive file names, ALT attributes, modern WebP/AVIF formats, correct dimensions — for Google Images traffic and better speed.
An architecture that passes authority to the pages that sell, with descriptive anchors and no orphan pages.
Direct answers, citable structures and FAQ sections — your pages are easier for AI Overviews to use as source material.
Google’s systems increasingly reward the real quality of content, and its quality guidelines emphasize experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness (E-E-A-T). Thin, generic or duplicate pages tend to lose ground with updates. Modern on-page optimization means content that fully answers the user’s question — and a structure machines can understand without ambiguity.
We start from the audit and from keyword research: every page gets a primary keyword and a set of related terms, with no overlap that causes cannibalization. Some pages only need tweaks (metadata, headings, internal links), others a complete rewrite — and for keywords without a dedicated page we create new SEO content.
Internal links are an underrated on-page tool: they pass the authority earned through advertorials to your commercial pages and show Google the hierarchy of your site. We build topic clusters — a pillar page plus supporting pages — exactly the structure we use on this site too.
On-page works best together with the technical foundation (an excellent page on a very slow site wastes its potential) and with external authority: strong content shows search engines that a page deserves to rank, and links show that others recommend you.
Benefits
Your pages fully cover search intent — the minimum requirement for the top spots on competitive terms.
Optimized metadata can bring more clicks even from the same position.
Proper internal linking helps your commercial pages rank, not just your homepage.
A citable structure makes your pages usable by AI Overviews and AI assistants.
FAQ
Not necessarily. After the audit we decide together: some pages only need tweaks, others need rewriting, and some keywords call for new pages.
There is no magic number — what matters is fully covering search intent. For competitive service pages, often 800–1,500 words; for guides, 1,500–3,000.
For low-competition keywords, sometimes yes. For competitive terms, on-page is necessary but not sufficient — you also need authority built through link building.
Both options. We implement directly in WordPress, WooCommerce or custom platforms, or we deliver the content and specifications to your team.
